Richard’s extensive background in corporate finance and accounting was cultivated during his eight-year tenure at TD Bank Financial Group. He commenced his journey within the retail banking division as a Financial Services Representative at TD Canada Trust, aiding clients with their daily banking requirements, with a significant emphasis on the customer experience model.

 

From 2008 to 2011, he was stationed in TD Securities, the company’s investment banking division, where he served as a Financial Analyst. Richard was an integral part of the wholesale accounting operations team, accountable for implementing internal controls. He subsequently transitioned to TD’s Asset Management division, providing invaluable support to the Business Services team. Here, he extended clients a continuously expanding array of investment management solutions tailored to meet the demands of institutional investors.

 

Richard initiated his career in investor relations at Yamana Gold, where he held the role of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations Analyst. This role involved comprehensive analysis and report generation on the company’s financial and operational outcomes. Prior to founding Storyboard Communications, Richard held the position of Manager of Investor Relations at Frontera, formerly known as Pacific Rubiales Energy. In this capacity, he reported directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the company. During his tenure at Frontera, he effectively executed the investor relations strategy for a $5.4 billion bankruptcy restructuring led by private equity investors. This strategy entailed skillful management of communication efforts to refine the company’s geographical focus and streamline organizational scale and complexity.

 

Richard earned his Commerce degree at the University of Guelph with a specialization in Management Economics in Industries and Finance. He also completed the Certified Management Accounting Strategic Leadership Program and acquired the CPA, CMA accounting designation.
